Marco Island Beachfront Homes

Most of the true beachfront homes on Marco Island are located on the northwest side of the island in the community known as Hideaway Beach. The homes were built from the 1980s to modern-day and are quite impressive. The residences built after 2000 tend to have impact-resistant glass among other hurricane protective measures due to the tightening of Florida's building code which went into effect March 1st, 2002. On the south side of the island just to the east of Cape Marco, are homes on Caxambas Bay which some people consider beachfront but there is not a sandy beach so that is a bit of a stretch. The advantage they do have is that many of them are able to dock their boats in their back yard which the true beachfront homes in Hideway Beach are unable to do.
