St Lucia was developed by Gulf Bay and completed in 1990. It is an atrium-style building with covered outdoor hallways from the elevator to the front door of the condos. In addition to the St Lucia highrise building, there are also St Lucia lowrise condos located in front of the tower. St Lucia is located next door to the Pelican Bay Foundation which is where many of the Pelican Bay amenities are found including tennis, The Commons, and tram station #4.
